#267...yawning..

(*to read entire entry...beta up already!*)

stretching, yawning....yes, yes...the queen is unrested. her mind is mush. a headache is brewing. and she is crabby - verily.

yes, yes,...the queen, once again, survived her weekend 12 hour night shifts...ready to come home and crash on the big soft comfy chair snuggled safe in a wide swath of sunbeams pouring in through her windows...

ah,....sun...beams....I almost forgot what they were...warm, bright...comfortable - a welcomed event given the last seven days here.

Yes, we've had rain...  lots of wet, gloomy, gray, drippy rain...

Oh and cold. Did I mention cold?  Yes, we've had seven straight days of wet, gloomy, gray, drippy, cold, rain....

Oh....and did I mention wind?  Yes, we've had seven straight days of wet, gloomy, gray, drippy, cold, and blustery rainy weather.  lucky us.

niiiice.

really, everyone should live here.  We're beginning to speak with an english accent now or maybe it's eskimo aleut,  I can't be sure anymore...

And so, imagine my excitement and surprise when after pushing through the hospital doors this morning I was actually greeted with the sun on my face....And for a moment - It was glorious, damn near orgasmic, even...

but no...thirty-three nanoseconds later, I realized I've been had -  for even those long awaited, much anticipated, morning sunbeams were evil, I tell you - they were there soley to lure me into the netherworld...stupid me for thinking -  oh I dunno, "if it's April 5th, and the sun is out - then surely it must be spring"...really, whatever was I thinking....

for any good eskimo will tell you  - one has to remember to factor in the wind chill.  Winds gusting at 45 mph coupled with the chilly high of  42 means - why, (checking my calculations)....means it really only feels like 18 degrees!

E i g h t e e n  friggin degrees. Not twenty - eighteen. That folks, translates to crisp. -  Instant frozen boogers kinda crispy morning weather - stinging frozen pins and needles in your fingers - as you fumble with the frozen door locks kinda crispy morning weather. Crispy, evil, sun-glaring, April 5th, Eskimo IndianSpringtime kinda morning weather, dammit.

...wait..what's this...NEWSFLASH: Cicada Invasion: Eastern U.S. Braces for Bug Swarm

Picture from Hometown

oh, ...I ...think... I ...am ...going ...to... have... to...have a friggin stroke here....

Good morning, Sunshine!  And I realize it is 1pm here and 2pm there, but....
Speaking of Cicadas--based on that same article, there is an AOL group dedicated to writing haikus all about the infernal, infesting critters.  I did not play.  _RRose sent me a link, and I haven't a clue how to reproduce it here, so I'll e-mail....
P.S.  Thanks for all the bandaids, actually.
