#471...the pitta that almost didn't pat...

anymore.

..."So this is what it feels like to dodge a bullet," I thought to myself.

Well, they ain't kidding when they say one shouldn't shovel heavy wet "schnow" -

Especially when your left anterior descending coronary artery is 95% clogged.  Yep. that be a killer for sure, that is - if one doesn't listen to the symptoms your heart gives you as courtesy, before hand.

How do I know this?

Well, it seems we were in for a little excitement this past week when the husband with the same cholesterol filled artery decided to do just that - shovel some wet snow.. and then wonder what that damn annoying chest pain and pressure was all about.

(and some husbands just don't seem to listen to nagging wives...but that's another story...)

so off to the emergency room we go - only to be told -"ya ain't goin' home with that thar clogged ticker mister..."  or other scary words to that effect...

and it was a surely a good thing, for the same husband with the clogged artery had to undergo a coronary stent procedure or angioplasty - which saved his sorry little ass just in time. (and I mean that in the most loving way, dear...)

and can I just say one thing - that the docs and nurses at my hospital (Lankenau) are just damn terrific - and we are thankful to have one of the top ten cardiac hospitals right in our own backyard.

As a little mental visual for you - 95% clogged means that blood had to try to get through the diameter of a pierced earring wire - of the ol "widow maker" coronary artery..really, really, not a good thing.

and at 47, although he appeared fit, and is in shape - those damn cholesterol making genes will try to get you every time -

so word out people - get yourselves checked, and take care of your heart in heart healthy ways...

take it from us - dodging bullets is not healthy for your heart or other living things...

#470...well, no wonder.

"At the moment, computers have the advantage of speed, but they show no sign of intelligence.  This is not surprising, because our present computers are less complex than the brain of an earthworm, a species not noted for its intellectual powers."

                                                        ~Stephen Hawking

boy, is that a back-handed worm compliment or what?

(And my computer royally and officially sucks, because it runs slower than even the intelligent commonworm worm and still offers no sign of intelligent life.)

#469....a valentine love spell...

Red Ribbon #3 ~ a spell for girls to drive their partners wild.

you will need:

1 yard of red ribbon; a few drops of Cupid's tears oil (make from 2-3 drops each tuberose, jasmine, and ylang-ylang oil and 1 drop musk oil blended with 2 1/2 teaspoons almond oil;) a beautiful thigh-high stocking; tiny votive candles in rainbow colors to line the path to the bedroom.

Moon phase:  any

After first sprinkling your ribbon with a little of the oil, tie it around the top of your stockinged thigh.  Make the following incantation to Aphrodite:  "May I now recall the way I claimed my love's heart; May I show him the palace of love incarnate; Allow his cares to lighten and smilingly play his part. So mote it be."

You must have the ribbon and stocking in place and seduce him with all your charms this night (no matter how hard his day at work or problems..)  Light the way to the boudoir with candles, and make this a romantic and passionate night to eclipse all others.

Hereafter, whenever you can, place a ribbon in odd places for your man to find:  in his address book, his wallet, his briefcase, his pocket, around his coffee cup in the office (contrive this how you will).  Each time he sees it, it will make him long to be with you....

~trust me on this one ladies...
