I was rearing up for a little AOL-Jihad when Steven wrote to tell me that AOL was doing some kind of backup. My recent uploads were gone (from my ftp space) and my hit counter went down around 400 or so.
A day or two later, most things seemed back to normal - except my hit counter still jumps up and down by 50-100 or so. The files are back in my ftp space, however.
Fortunately, the whiz kids at AOL India have got their stuff together and they were able to determine that the e-mails would soon be restored to my ftp space.
.... Yes. The "e-mails," they wrote.
I'm still looking elsewhere since they're chosing to run with Operation SNAFU.
