So, Scalzi wants pictures...
and I am happy to oblige -
the above pic was taken the day one of my sister's
became a mother for the first time - nice, eh?
Starting on the left - my sister Pat, the new momma - Joanne, my little sister Suz,
our mother, me..and unfortunately,
one missing sister - Robin - who was taking the picture! (sorry Rob!)
We're all mothers now - adding a total of 16 new grandbabies to the world
with the first great grandchild coming soon.
We still miss the woman who started it all -
our own Mother, who passed away some 19 yrs ago now..
She would have loved this..
for she loved her daughters and especially delighted in her grandbabies..
extra credit: My mother always pinned found safety pins to her robe - the meaning of which - she took to her grave...
my own little ones -
who have all decided to grow up on me when I wasn't looking...
what a dirty trick.
Happy Mother's day
to all you new and old momma's out there!

Aw Geeez, Mom! I am trying to get ready to go back to my apartment and be a grown-up again! Now my face is tear-streaked and in no way do I want to put my big girl shoes on and head back out into the world! I just want to stay here and never leave!... oh wait, but those shoes do have sparkles on them...
Really though... that was so beautiful. You said it and showed it right. You always do. You've taught the three of us so much, from how to tie our shoes, to how to share, to how to properly clean the bathroom, to how to feed birds, to the best way to study, to how to be our most creative, to how to make REALLY good coffee, to how to tell someone off, to stand up for what we believe in, to always go after what we want and dream the most... even if it sometimes meant tears, a lot of tears for you and Dad.
We've been able to talk to you about anything always! You are my first best friend! Thank you for who you are... and what really gets me is that you've done the grand majority of that without Granny around. I don't know how you did... I don't know how any of your sisters did it either. But I do know that there is something unique about you, Mom. Reallly unique. I love you so very much.
~Your oldest.

Beautiful photos of your family. Mother's Day can be a bit nerved as my Mom passed in 1971. But I have many friends and family to fill in some of the void. I take great pride in my friend's children. They all love me.
Gorgeous children! And I think I wore the same dress in bugundy when I was in my sisters' wedding! <g>
