All about me eh?
Good God, what an invitation...
hmm...well, let's see what turns up.
An open book quiz will be given at the end class, so pay attention...
Does Al Qaeda need an Abu Ghraib incident to commit murder? Of course not, they're terrorists. But it's also undeniable that they are now using Abu Ghraib to recruit even more members.
Senator Inhofe of Oklahoma made the unbelievable statement that many of us are "more outraged at the outrage than the treatment", claiming that many of the inmates in Abu Ghraib are probably killers and murderers. How does he know? He certainly doesn't speak for me.
Let us also not forget that the Red Cross report states that roughly 60-70% of those detained in Abu Ghraib are probably innocent. They have yet to be convicted of any crime. And unlike the detainees in Guantanamo Bay, the detainees in Abu Ghraib are enemy combatants, covered under the rules of the Geneva Convention.
The Iraq war is no longer just a military war, but also a war for the hearts and minds of the Iraqi people and the Middle East. The abuses at Abu Ghraib just made it that much more difficult.
Flo, Thanks for the link to that article. I read it all, and I must say it was very informative. I cannot even imagine actually "seeing" the beheading take place. My stomach almost heaves at the thought of it. I cannot fathom such hatred. It scares me to be honest. -Connie

Muse is right. The actions of a few have made our jobs infinitely more difficult.
Everyone responsible for the abuses at Abu Ghraib ought to pay dearly for their actions.
Thanks, Flora....Forwarded it to my son & brother.
