So the taskmaster, Sir John Scalzihead , now wants to see pictures of our desk - what
a co-inkadink that it was almost this time last year that we started the Official Desktop Tour -
does anyone remember?
for those of you who want to take a little stroll down memory lane - click here.
As for the above pic - my desk still looks pretty much as it did then - with only a few more additions of paper strewn about, so I'm submitting the same..
I will, however, elaborate for you -
The desk is an old, solid butcher block style oak kitchen table - heavy as sh...well, it's just heavy okay, trust me. It may not be chic, but hey, it works..
The bureau to the left, is recycled baby furniture -
The computer is by Dell - it's black, it's square, and not nearly as friendly as my old Mac Performa 550...
The lamp, to the right, is genuine imitation Tiffany - from the dungeon and dragonfly era.
The oil painting is a $35. flea market find of good ol Manayunk and it's accompanying Schukyll expressway (a Philly favorite for those in the know..and I still don't know if I spelled it correctly after all these years..)
The books on the desk are varied and sundry - dictionaries, quotations, thesaurus, but most treasured is a book I stole from my catholic high school typing class - entitled "20,000 Words Spelled and Divided for Quick Reference"- Seventh Edition, Leslie. Oh yes, I risked getting a demerit for it - I'm dangerous like that doncha know..
There's an old "mod" phone - white and wavy - way cool.
Ooh, and look - there's the HP 2410 photosmart printer, copier, scanner, faxer, toast making, dust collector - (actually, it's a great printer..)
And sitting there - a scented gingerlily candle, a pile of paper crap, a recycled planter, now pen container, (again - from the kids baby days...sigh)
Next to the Dell - an antique ceramic dish that is still holding .79 cents, a retractable tape measure, some post-it notes, a band-aid, two crystal trinket things, two one cent stamps, a rubber band, a broken plastic clippy thing, and a chinese fortune cookie paper - that says...wait, let me read - "The world is always ready to receive talent with open arms." (aaah...nice!),
and a layer of eww..dust, I see...(brushing that off...) And why on earth am I keeping these things?....
and there you have it. The Official Floralilian Desktop - where the Queen of Flimflammery sits and peers into the interwebby world of you..
and you...
and you.
waving...
your turn...

Your desk is cool!
I don't use one. I sit in my recliner with my wireless laptop.

Way too neat for your own good, my queen. You need some real clutter and stacks of paper and some Post-it notes on the fringe of the monitor!
grins and giggles,

My "server" is part of a set that also holds

I remember that desk and lamp! We all had so much fun taking snap shots of our desks, and rooms. I was just remembering this time a few days ago. It was so much fun doing it.
Your organized neatness puts me to shame. There are days when this ol' cowboy can't find his computer due to the clutter ( a SLIGHT exaggeration.....)
What is actually amazing ..... is you can actually see something of your desktop in the picture!!! That doesn't happen at my house .....
this looked like too much fun.. I had to do it as well.
