#472...on snow - in March, no less...

Ah yes, another month, and so of course, another snowstorm.

Yep - Good ol' Mother Nature up to her old antics again. Trying her darndest to pick off yet another member of this family....me.    (I'm kidding.)

Even still, life is good; Snowy, but still good.

Really good, in fact.

Thanks to all who stopped by and left their warm wishes, kind words, and prayers- they really are much appreciated. I passed them on to the ol' stented bullet dodger, aka: my beloved husband of 25 years -  who smiles and is amazed at the generosity of you crazy cats in j-land.

To update, he is doing really well, and home resting these last few days. He did go back to work for a little yesterday, and found that the jobsite and the world are holding their own just fine without him, (imagine that..) and so he decided to take the day off today and just enjoy the rest, the fresh snowfall, a big bowl of homemade soup, and a couple of old Bugs Bunny movies.  (What.)

While he was busy doing that, the son and myself tackled the job of shoveling the old homestead out from under 6 plus inches of fresh fallen snow this morning.  Bud tried to come out and help - and of course, we just duct taped him to the big old easy chair, propped his feet up, and handed him the remote.

It was terribly frustrating for him, I'm sure.

No, really.

I know I don't often share much personal information here, mostly because... well - because it's personal. Personal and mostly boring - for you.  For me though, it's boring in the most interesting ways.  To both of us actually - for we've stuck together for some 25 years, through the thick and the thin, the sickness and the health, the rich and the poor.  We managed to raised three beautiful and wonderful kids, we grew up together, we fought together, we made memories together, we've built castles, and we've dreamt dreams of every delight. We've even managed to realize a few of them.  We still look to the next hour, the next day, the next year.  For there is still a lot left to do, eh?

But today, lucky you - I've decided to let you peek into my boring interesting life just this once.  I promise not to make a regular habit of it.

I do have a rather large alter ego to keep up here, remember. Ask Albert.

So my husband gave me a little advice this morning, as I was pulling on my gloves and reaching for the snow shovel - "Just take it easy now babe - don't worry if you don't get it all done...I can help a little you know - "

"Oh really?  No, really you can't...not today."  I said, as I pushed him back into the house.

His face said it all - looking a little worried, and a little frustrated all at the same time..

Bud is used to being very active.  Historically, he is the first one out the door in the morning clearing the snow, scraping the ice, warming the cars, salting the walks, filling the gas tanks, turning our cars around so they face out of the driveway,  getting us coffee, or breakfast, or the morning newspaper. You know, crazy selfless acts like that - that always leave me looking at him curiously.. like -  what planet did you come from...

By his nature he is a very warm, caring, and generous man - who loves us wholly and cares for us deeply in the most simple and complicated ways.  I am lucky to have him.

And  I love him enormously.

So, I am happy to report that the snow has stopped, and with the help of my son, the shoveling got done with only a few minor back pains - and here is the difference between how men and woman shovel -

men, get the job done, whereas women, of course,

manage to turn it into a craft project....

I'm so happy to hear that your husband is recuperating at home...and I can imagine his frustration at having to take it easy for a while.  I'm a terrible patient myself.  The glimpse you've allowed us is so touching...you are lucky to have each other.

Your snow people are CUTE!!

Bless Bud.. He's lucky to have such an in-your-face-ol' nag as yourself looking after him..
Oh.. and as a side note, I would have done the snow girl's hair in a tasteful upsweep. Spanish moss is so versatile.
